Miller & Chevalier is dedicated to the professional development of its attorneys. The Lawyer Development Committee oversees the firm's evaluation process and overall professional development of associates.
New associates, senior associates and counsel-level attorneys are assigned a mentor who serves as a valuable resource to the more junior attorney in setting and reaching professional goals. The mentor helps the attorney prepare an annual strategic plan that identifies specific steps the attorney can take to meet professional development and training goals in the year ahead. Each attorney meets several times during the year with his or her mentor to discuss the attorney's progress with his or her strategic plan. A fundamental assumption of the Lawyer Development program is that the best mentoring is accomplished through a close working relationship on billable work.
